The Jubilee Churches

Pilgrimage is of course a fundamental element of every Jubilee event. Setting out on a journey is traditionally associated with our human quest for meaning in life. A pilgrimage on foot is a great aid for rediscovering the value of silence, effort and simplicity of life.

Pope Francis, Spes Non Confundit 5

"These are the churches indicated as gathering points for pilgrims. In these churches various activities will take place, including sessions of catechesis in a variety of languages to help people rediscover the true meaning of the Holy Year. These churches will also offer pilgrims the chance to receive the sacrament of reconciliation and nurture their faith through prayer." Click here to know the Jubilee Churches in Rome.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said these churches will serve as places of pilgrimage for the special “time of spiritual renewal and grace for the universal Church." “These sacred sites will offer the faithful an opportunity for deeper reflection, conversion, and the experience of God’s infinite mercy,” said Cardinal-elect Pablo Virgilio David, CBCP president.
