St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Timbao, City of Biñan

For Missionaries, Catechists, and Missionaries of Mercy

In 1950, a small bamboo chapel dedicated to San Roque was built in Barangay Timbao, Biñan, Laguna, initially holding Mass only once a year on the patron's feast day, August 16. Later, the feast was moved to March 22 to coincide with the harvest season. In 1970, the chapel was relocated to Riverside, and as the community grew, Fr. Marciano Dijan, parish priest of Risen Lord Parish, sought to purchase a new lot for a church. Instead, Mrs. Fidela Gana-Yaptinchay generously donated a 500 sqm lot, which was later expanded with the purchase of an additional lot through the Friends of San Roque when Fr. Juvenal Leonardo arrived.

In 2019, the chapel was elevated to a quasi-parish through the efforts of Fr. Jose Thor Villacarlos, and in June 2020, Fr. Bienvenido Acuno, Jr. became the priest-in-charge. He was later installed as the first parish priest. On September 5, 2020, the canonical erection of the parish was officiated by Bishop Buenaventura Famadico, who also placed the parish under the patronage of St. Teresa of Calcutta, marking a significant milestone in the community’s growth.
