Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, Calumpang, Liliw

For Teenagers, youth, families, Children, grandparents, and the elderly

In May 1982, a pact was established between the Parish of St. John the Baptist in Liliw and the Salesians of Don Bosco in Santa Cruz to place the spiritual care of the people of Calumpang under the Salesian priests. This agreement led to an increased frequency of Mass celebrations in the area. Two years later, Fr. Dominic Curto, SDB, then the parish priest of Santa Cruz, began the renovation of the Calumpang chapel, which was blessed on December 26, 1986, with the presence of other Salesian priests. In July 2000, Bishop Francisco San Diego expressed his desire to elevate the chapel to a parish under the patronage of Sts. Joachim and Anne. Initially, the Servants of the Poor were assigned as administrators of the new parish.

In 2008, Fr. Rodolfo Carabuena initiated the construction of a larger church to accommodate the growing community. The new parish church was blessed by Bishop Leo Drona, SDB, on July 26, 2011, during the fiesta celebration. This event marked a significant milestone in the development of the parish, cementing the spiritual foundation of the community under the Salesians' care.
